Due to its location our Airport Bird & Game Lodge offers you the perfect start or end to your African journey, and is definitely the ideal location for travellers with early departures or late arrivals. We also have day rooms if you need some rest between connecting flights, or if you are looking for a base while exploring the treasures of Southern Africa.

Our Accommodation & Facilities

If you want to have a special, unique, unforgettable enrichment of your life, then our Airport Bird & Game Lodge should be your destination. Where else will you look at wildlife and birds in nature when you open the curtains of your wall size window/glass door? - Instead of the door of the room across the passage.

We aim to be quiet and peaceful, although occasionally there is a genuine South African Braai (barbecue) with face painting and African dancing. Relax at our lovely swimming pool area or on the covered wrap-around patio.

Our luxury child-friendly accommodation is situated in a landscaped garden, overlooking the untouched bush and Rietvlei stream. For a good nights rest choose between 27 well-appointed en-suite rooms ranging from standard and luxury guest rooms to de-luxe rooms with many modern conveniences. We also provide some interleading rooms available for families travelling together.

There is complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the lodge as well as a luggage and car storage facility, with several regular guests who “store” their vehicles/campers safely here. We are also a green-friendly accommodation establishment with solar geysers, energy saver lighting, recycling and laundry done with biodegradable detergents.

Our inhouse Garden Restaurant & Bushveld Bistro caters to all culinary tastes with delectable home-made meals.

If you prefer to cater for yourself we offer a dining room area and a kitchen, in which you may prepare your meals.

Many guests order their meals to be brought to Airport Bird & Game Lodge via meal delivery service apps. Yet another option is to be chauffeured to and from a choice of several good restaurants in the area. There is no drinking and driving risk and it is very comfortable.

Our Activities

Bicycle rental is available for those who wish to go out and explore the off-site bicycle trails (additional charges apply).

Be it Yoga or fitness, it is in the fresh open air amongst trees and with small wild animals in front of you, at your pace.

The Highveld is 1.4 km above sea level. That means that there is that amount less atmosphere, which makes star gazing simply amazing when facing the Milky Way.

Stay for a few days and explore this exceptionally interesting area of our planet by doing some exclusive tours which are very conveniently based right here at Airport Bird & Game Lodge, e.g. to the Cradle of Humankind (various hominoid ancestral species - best information worldwide), safaris to professional wildlife sanctuaries (elephants to touch or observing cheetahs when at 120 km/h with 7 metre strides) or the Pilanesberg Game Reserve in a volcanic crater, or visit a diamond museum (after going 763 metres down  into a "live" diamond mine from which the biggest diamond ever was mined) or absorb the gold rush of the 1880's by visiting a gold mine. And there are also several very nice golf courses nearby.

Our friendly and helpful team at the reception is here to assist you with all your requirements.
