Shikwari

Shikwari Nature Reserve 

Situated close to Kruger Park and the Panorama Route, our Shikwari Nature Reserve offers two camps as well as giraffes and other African wildlife such as zebras, wildebeests, kudus, impalas, nyalas, waterbucks, bush bucks and steenboks as well as duikers and ostriches plus many birds. A full breakfast  and dinner are offered and usually served al fresco on the veranda or deck Boma. Enjoy a friendly, relaxed service in amazing bushveld surroundings where we also have wonderful areas for celebrations and weddings. 

Our Accommodation 

Shikwari Suites, 4 star rated with the TGCSA - Free Wi-Fi is available for both camps in the lounge/veranda area of this main camp. Relax on the shady lodge veranda taking in the view and cool off in the pool with an amazing view. All meals are taken at this camp. The breakfast is a buffet Continental and a plated English; dinner is a 2 course meal - main and dessert, including homemade bread and dips as an appetizer. 

Six luxury thatched suites are tucked into the natural bush, are decorated with stylish furniture and offer each a private bathroom and outdoor shower, a small patio, a mini fridge stocked on request as well as a choice of beds with percale linen. Enjoy the hospitality tray with fresh ground coffee, a French coffee press, a choice of quality teas and homemade cookies. There is also a turndown service with homemade nougat/chocolates and a paid laundry service. Guests at this camp are only booked on a half board option.

Please note there is no capacity for more than 2 adults neither in the suites nor in the rondavels - However, 2 children, between 5 and 12 years, may share each unit with their parents or an older sibling. 

Pangolin Rondavels - These are in a separate area from the Shikwari Suites and not graded. This comfortable budget option camp is located approximately 500 meters from the main lodge and offers 4 traditional thatched rondavels grouped around a pool.

There is no television or Wi-Fi in this camp. However these are available at the Shikwari Suites lounge, including satellite premium DSTV and free Internet connection. This camp consists of two rondavels with bush bathroom - with outdoor shower, covered toilet and basin, plus the other two rondavels share a separate bathroom as well as an outdoor shower. 

Beds offer percale linen and towels are supplied. All rooms have a wardrobe, seating, ceiling fans and a hospitality tray with kettle, milk, coffee and teas. One room is air-conditioned.

A Boma is available for braais (barbecues) where guests need to bring their own braai tools, tableware and charcoal. Breakfast is included in the Pangolin rate and there is a half board option as well. All guests take meals booked at the main Shikwari Suites camp. 

Activities 

Guided game walks are available at the lodge and trips to Kruger National Park with our FGASA guide in an open game vehicle. The reserve is also close to many other exciting day trips such as the Panorama Route and the Graskop Gorge Lift, Blyde boat cruise, Jessica Hippo, Hoedspruit Endangered Species, Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation and Echo Caves plus some exciting adventure options such as quad biking, paintball and abseiling as well as canopy tours. Please note: We are unable to accept day visitors.

Storms River Guest Lodge

Situated in the peaceful village of Storms River within the Tsitsikamma, our child-friendly Storms River Guest Lodge offers a little slice of heaven to everyone, and even the weariest of travellers will leave rejuvenated here in our part of the scenic Garden Route! The village is surrounded by natural indigenous forest, Fynbos and commercial plantations. 

Our Accommodation 

Our double storey guest house consists of 14 spacious, en-suite rooms with a large veranda on the top floor offering views of the tranquil garden and the Storms River mountain peak.

Other facilities include a swimming pool, a barbecue area and an attractive guest lounge as well as a guest TV lounge and a bar. 

Activities 

We are in close proximity to a variety of exciting activities that cater to both the adventurous and those looking to put their feet up for a relaxing break.

The area hosts a number of meandering hiking trails, tree top tours, tubing, mountain biking and Segways. You can even rent a bicycle from us.

The area also boasts the highest commercial bungee jump at Bloukrans Bridge. The Storms River Mouth, with its spectacular shoreline, is the start of the famous Otter Hiking Trail and is situated in the Tsitsikamma National Park, a mere 10 kilometres away. 

For a more relaxing experience, there is a spa where you will be pampered. With such an abundance of natural beauty, it is hard to resist the allure of this magical place. Should you need any assistance during your stay, the hostess, which is also the owner, will be able to assist you with any needs you might have.

 

Thaba Tsweni Lodge

Our family orientated Thaba Tsweni Lodge is situated in the northern Drakensberg mountains and the Blyde River Canyon area of the Panorama Route as well as within walking distance to the Berlin Falls, a South African National Monument. 

Our Accommodation 

We offer 6 luxury, fully equipped self-catering en-suite chalets, where a full South African breakfast at our dining area and/or dinners at the restaurant next door can be arranged to your preferences with prior notification. Situated in peaceful surroundings on the farm Berlyn, our child-friendly units ensure a relaxing stay in a natural mountain setting and cater for two, four, or six people respectively; each unit comes with a kitchen, dining area, a garden and a barbecue as well as a lounge with television and fireplace. 

Our Facilities 

There is also a kids playground in our large garden and you can cool down in the farm dam. The exclusive use of the lodge library of books in each chalet is available to resident guests. 

A wide variety of leisure and adventure activities are available in the Blyde River Canyon, at Kruger National Park and in the surrounding areas. 

If you don't feel like catering for yourself, restaurants are also in abundance in Graskop the closest town to the lodge.

Overlooking the Indian Ocean on the one side and with a magnificent view of the Outeniqua Mountains on the other side, our The Owls Inn Country Villas in Glentana are situated on a small holding and are centrally located between George and Mossel Bay which is not only perfect for holiday makers but also for business travellers along the Garden Route. Our country house is unique in many ways and has a true atmosphere of Africa surrounded by nature; Experience a comfortable stay with a difference at our jewel which will make you relax. 

Glentana beach is a 5min drive away and in 10 minutes you will reach the Great Brak River shopping complex. A 2km drive on a well maintained farm road gives you easy driving access to the N2 highway, which leads to all the surrounding beaches, a few famous golf courses and the activities on the Garden Route. We are also only a 10 minute drive from the George Airport. 

Our Accommodation 

Our country house is free standing and one of another two guest lodges on the enclosed and gated property, each with its own private entrance and private parking area. 

We offer a relaxing lounge, a separate TV room area and a dining room where we serve breakfast or a meal of the day. The inside braai (barbeque) and kitchen area is available to our guests who prefer self-catering. Relax in our sundowner deck or in the comfortable outside barbeque and Jacuzzi area overlooking the ocean and with panoramic views of the magnificent Outeniqua Mountains. 

For a comfortable stay choose between three en-suite guest rooms and one cottage which all offer Wi-Fi. Each guest room has a TV and bar fridge as well, and while our grey owl room is equipped with two 3/4 beds, the blue owl room and the black owl room each come with a king size bed. 

The Loft Cottage comprises of a kitchen and outside braai facilities for self-catering and has a dining room, a lounge area as well as two bedrooms and a seperate bathroom.

Tofo Beach Accommodation

Welcome to our affordable and child-friendly self-catering accommodation, Tofo Beach Accommodation situated in the lovely, prestine holiday town, Tofo and Tofinho (small Tofo) where we invite you to make use of our 3 unique, holiday houses which offer beautiful sea views and a homely atmosphere, just a stone's throw away from a beach and close to attractions – the perfect getaway destination in Mozambique. 

Our picturesque, lively beach town has wide open, sandy beaches, diving schools, lots of good restaurants, chill out places and spaza shops as well as a lively market and is ideally located in Mozambique's popular holiday province of Inhambane, a 6 to 8 hours drive north of Maputo. 

Our Accommodation 

Our three holiday houses offer all the necessary self-catering facilities, linen and mosquito nets in the bedrooms as well as Wi-Fi which is free of charge at Casa Derika. 

Casa Derika is perfectly located in the front row of houses on Tofo beach. With the beach right at your doorstep, it feels as if you allow it inside the house when you open the front stack doors. The cottage has 2 bedrooms and sleeps a maximum of 6 people. This house is equipped for self-catering and apart from the fully fitted kitchen it has one of the best braai (barbecue) locations in the world. 

The Casa Isabel is also located at the beach front, between Tofo’s main beach and Tofinho’s surfing beach. It is truly a home away from home. The two verandas offer spectacular ocean views with frequent sightings of dolphins and whales. The 2-bedroom cottage sleeps a maximum of 6 guests, has a fully equipped kitchen as well and a nice outside braai area. Wi-Fi data have to be purchased. 

Our Casa Christine is close to the famous Tofinho surfing spot and was hand built during the late 1990’s. All the bricks and window frames were handmade onsite without power tools. This cottage is a showpiece of Mozambique’s local construction skills and has 2 bedrooms as well as a loft, sleeping a maximum of 8 people. The huge veranda and braai area are enjoyable areas for your vacation. Wi-Fi data have to be purchased.

Our child-friendly Two Angels Guest House offers magnificent self-catering accommodation in Knysna at the water’s edge of the Knysna Lagoon. Overlooking the Outeniqua Mountains, our cosy and quiet spot is nestled in a sheltered cove and just a short walk away from a café for affordable meals with a fantastic "Heads" view. 

Knysna is called the Jewel of the Garden Route. With its lagoon and surrounding territory, it is part of a natural conservation area with indigenous forests and lakes. The Knysna lagoon is tidal and therefore ideal for families with children. 

Our Accommodation 

We offer you several flexible accommodation options, ranging from three cottages / apartments with sea views to 6 en-suite bedrooms on three levels in the main house, which also comes with beautiful and comfortable living and entertainment areas as well as two fully equipped kitchens. With a total capacity of 14 people, our TwoAngels Guest House can be let as a whole by arrangement or as separate individual guest rooms.

Our lodge features 13 comfortable Standard Chalets, 4 Luxury Chalets and three spacious campsites, each thoughtfully positioned to make the most of the spectacular surroundings.

The Luxury Chalet is designed for guests seeking a little extra comfort and privacy, our luxury chalets offer an elegant escape with uninterrupted views of the Ugab Valley. Accommodating two adults, the chalet features a spacious super king-size bed, a comfortable seating area and a private viewing deck where you can unwind while taking in the remarkable landscape. The chalet includes a spacious en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower, air-conditioning, complimentary Wi-Fi, a hairdryer and a coffee machine with a selection of teas. A fully stocked minibar fridge, providing a range of refreshing beverages, ensuring everything you need for a relaxing stay is within easy reach.

Our 13 Standard Chalets are individually positioned along the escarpment, allowing every guest to enjoy sweeping views across the Ugab Valley from their own private balcony. Each chalet accommodates two adults in twin three-quarter beds, with arrangements available for young children upon request. The chalets are comfortably appointed with an en-suite bathroom featuring a shower, air-conditioning, complimentary Wi-Fi, and ample storage, providing everything needed for a relaxing stay after a day of exploring.  

For those who enjoy the outdoors, our three secluded campsites offer a tranquil camping experience in the heart of nature. Situated at the foot of the hill overlooking the Ugab Terraces, each campsite is generously spaced approximately 40 metres apart beneath the shade of Mopane trees and surrounding rock formations, providing both privacy and a true wilderness atmosphere. Each campsite is equipped with a private braai (barbecue) area, basin and fresh running water. Guests have access to a shared ablution block offering hot showers and toilet facilities. While the campsites do not have individual electrical outlets, charging facilities are conveniently available at the lodge's main parking area.

Zipline Adventure - Experience the thrill of Namibia's longest zipline. This exhilarating adventure consists of two individual lines measuring 880 metres and 680 metres, offering breathtaking views across the Ugab Valley as you glide above the dramatic landscape.

Game Drive - Discover the incredible wildlife and open landscapes of the neighbouring reserve on a guided game drive through one of Namibia's most scenic regions. Guests regularly encounter giraffes, zebra, springbok, kudu, eland, wildebeest, ostrich and a variety of other wildlife and bird species.

Scorpion Walk - Experience the Ugab Valley after dark on this fascinating guided night walk. Departing after dinner, guests are transferred a short distance from the lodge before setting out on foot to discover the remarkable nocturnal world hidden beneath the desert sky. With the aid of ultraviolet lights, your guide will help you locate scorpions while introducing you to geckos, snakes, spiders and other fascinating desert inhabitants, together with the unique plants that thrive in this arid environment.

Sundowner Drive - Enjoy a leisurely afternoon exploring the Ugab Valley while learning about the remarkable plants, animal tracks, geology and smaller wildlife that make this ecosystem so unique. Your knowledgeable guide will share fascinating stories and insights throughout the journey before concluding the experience with refreshing drinks and light snacks served at a scenic viewpoint as the Namibian sun sets over the escarpment.

Rock Art Excursion - Journey into Namibia's rich cultural history on this guided four-hour excursion to ancient Bushman rock art sites. Along the way, your guide explains how the region's early inhabitants survived in this harsh yet beautiful landscape while interpreting the remarkable rock paintings that provide a glimpse into their traditions, beliefs and daily lives.

Guided Walk- After a scenic drive across the property, guests embark on an approximately 4 km guided walk through the valley, discovering the fascinating geology, indigenous vegetation, wildlife tracking techniques and traditional survival methods used by the region's earliest inhabitants.

Unguided Walking Trail - Discover the beauty of the Ugab Valley at your own pace along our marked 4 km walking trail. The trail takes you through a beautiful river canyon and loops back up to the lodge.
