This is followed by a hot daily special, which often includes South African specialities such as our snoek (fish found off the West Coast) omelette, or you can opt for a hearty English breakfast.

After a day of sightseeing, lazing at the beach, or languishing at our guesthouse plunge pool, you can help yourself to complimentary coffee, tea and confectionaries. Afternoon tea is served from 16:00 upstairs in the guesthouse lounge. For lunch and dinner, our Paternoster Dunes Guesthouse is within easy strolling distance of the central village harbour and an array of restaurants and eateries.

At Roosje van de Kaap, the restaurant adds heart and soul to your stay with us and is situated in a converted, historical stable. It is here where breakfast is served and where you can enjoy candlelit à la carte dinners as well. The low reed ceiling, thickly plastered walls and soft candlelight take you back to bygone days of the 19th century, setting the scene for the tastes and flavours to come. From Cape Malay cooking styles to classic French fare, the menu is inspired by the rich history of our beautiful town and region.

This is how a culinary magazine describes the restaurant: “Local gem in an historical stable overlooking the Drostdy building. Distinctive country menu in a fairy tale setting; an innovative mix of starters, the essence of seafood, pan-seared fillet of beef, ostrich with a classic French reduction - a comprehensive spectrum of styles and tastes.
